The 2009 Divided Dash will take place on Tuesday May the 19th at 7:30pm. It’s a 4 x 2.5k relay for members of the club only.
The clubhouse will be closed for the week commencing 11th May due to the Windsor Horse Show.
On the Tuesday (12th) the first race in the 5k series will be taking place - don’t forget to get your numbers from Colin (fixtures.secretary at datchetdashers.com) over the next few weeks.
On the Thursday (14th) we will be meeting at the usual time at Dorney Lake to run our Dorney Dash route.
The clubhouse will reopen on Tuesday 19th May when we will be holding the Divided Dash, for those that are new to the club this is a 10k relay race from outside the clubhouse around the Home Park, it is run in teams of four (2.5k each) with each runner having a handicap time, so it is not always the first team to finish that wins.
Most importantly there is free pizzas after the event in the Cricket Club bar.
Chris Bradfield has opened an on-line entry system as well as a list being put in the clubhouse (online entry preferred please). If you wish to take part in this event please ensure that you enter by one of the systems as it save a lot of confusion on the night.
Chris will also be doing the handicapping (apparently he is open to bribes).
If you don’t want to run but just want to come down and help (eat pizzas) or support please email Dave.G (chairman at datchetdashers.com) as this will help with the catering.
Click the name to see the splits. If you entered the marathon before you became a Dasher, please let us know so we can add you to the list! (comment or email: webmaster at datchetdashers.com)
Race reports to follow…but in the meantime stats fans can feast their eyes on David P’s analysis of the Dashers marathon efforts since 2003 here (excel).
Updated 29 April to add photos, more are welcome!

The club championship tables have now been updated after the great runs at the Maidenhead 10, please see the Club Championship page for results to date and dates for the rest of the championship. Thanks to Tom and Chris for their hard work!
Reminder 1 - We have three club championships; men’s, ladies’, and an overall age-graded championship, so everyone has a good chance. On top of that it’s the best 7 (for men) or 5 (for ladies) or 6 (for the age-graded) races that count, so with 8 races to go you could win even if you haven’t raced yet!
Reminder 2 - Age-grading is calculated from the world record for the same distance and is normalised for age and gender. For more details on how age-grading works, please see frequently asked questions on the Running for Fitness site, or feel free to ask one of the committee members. There is also a good online calculator if you’re curious as to how you would score.
Anyone who wasn’t at the club tonight missed a very happy announcement - two of our members, Tom Durance and Elaine Culverwell, got engaged over the Easter weekend. Many congratulations to both of you!

Melissa Elliott took part in the Pre Paris Marathon Breakfast Run last Saturday. It was a 5.2km jog from the UNESCO building and took in the Ecole Militaire, Eiffel Tower, and Trocadero finishing on Avenue Foch where the main marathon would be finishing the day after. She had to follow a group of runners who were flying the flags of the UN members. It wasn’t a race, but still attracted a few thousand people.

A very happy David Priddy knocked 1:40 off his PB at the South Cheshire Harriers Air Products 10k in Crewe, despite the unseasonably warm conditions. That’s two PBs in three days!

What a lot of Dashers! Andy Cooney continues his assault in the MV40 record book, knocking off over 2 minutes with a time of 57:02, and also winning the MV40 category in the Berkshire Championships.
I hear there were quite a few PBs as well, please let us know who you are! Usual email address (webmaster at datchetdashers.com) or add a comment if you prefer.

Full results here.
We are looking for helpers to leaflet the cars at the Maidenhead 10 (Good Friday) for our Dorney Dash.
Jon Elliott will be coordinating the leafleting and will be around the start area to see off the runners at 09.30 before starting the leafleting.
With enough helpers the cars can be done before the finishers get back.
Can you please e-mail Dave (chairman at datchetdashers.com) if you can help.
The club will be closed for the evening of Thursday 9th April 2009 due to most of us running at the Maidenhead 10 the next day.
We will be reopening as usual next Tuesday 14th April.
Details of the club championship are now online, please see the Club Championship page for details.
There is now an age-graded category as well as Men’s/Ladies, so the older runners have a real chance. (I’m still last though!!)
For more details on how age-grading works, please see frequently asked questions on the Running for Fitness site, or feel free to ask one of the committee members.
