Congratulations Mel on another PB!

Provisional results for the moment…As promised, some great results!

Results to follow, but some truly exceptional highlights: for the first time in living memory, we supplied both winners!

Andy Cooney won his first ever race in a new pb, while Sharon Helsby stormed up the hills to be first lady across the line, while Michelle Hopkins continued her excellent form with a stunning 2nd place!

Burnham 5k 2009

Lots of people made it to the Wokingham Half, rescheduled from February. Any more pbs to report?

This new parkrun event started on 9 May 2009. Although it’s nearer Windsor than the Bushy Park 5k timetrial Simon and Kathryn are the first Dashers to give it a go – click on the Bedfont Lakes main page to see them in action.

Simon & Kathryn Black report:
A slightly undulating off road course set in great surroundings. Very little tarmac but a good addition to the Parkrun series. Not quite sure how we finished 50 seconds apart as we both clocked the same time, but these are just teething troubles. Get there early to get a parking space!!!

Don’t expect a PB!!

Join us on 20th June at this event….. There is a coffee shop across the road afterwards!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who dashed around Home Park tonight; 2.5k is a really difficult distance to get right, but there was some excellent racing and some very close finishes.

Our overall winners were team 4, consisting of Claude Autrey, Tsumi Smith, and Bella Shah who ran twice. Their handicapped time of 1:03:22 put them a scant 18s ahead of team 12.

The first team across the line in 41:00 was team 15, who were Sharon Helsby, Jo Logie, Charlotte Glazzard and Kanwal Madra.

The cheeriest cheerers were team 8; I could hear Paul Turnbull, Tom Durance, Saffron Sabine, and Melanie Golding from the cricket club bar!

Finally, the fastest runner once their handicap was taken into account was Rob Lane whose 15:29 placed him only 4s ahead of Bella Shah.

The average difference from my predicted time was 18s. Mel Elliot ran her exact predicted time, while only 8 people were more than 30s faster or slower than predicted.

Tony Curtin claimed the men’s 50 vet record from Mike May at the Marlow 5 on Sunday with a time of 32:12 and a very impressive 81.6% age graded score, but to make up for it Mike claimed the 60 vet records with 35:57 and a 73.8% age grading. The club championship tables have now been updated after the great runs at the Marlow 5, please see the Club Championship page for results to date and dates for the rest of the championship.

Here are the teams for the Divided Dash, which takes place from the clubhouse next Tuesday (May the 19th). The race starts at 1930h, so please be there from 1900h to collect your numbers, etc

On the evening
- please arrive in plenty of time
- collect your teams’ numbers;
- pin your number on and get ready to race
- race!
- eat pizza
