5k timetrial
Last Tuesday of the Month 5k timetrial
From September to April on the last Tuesday of every month we run a 5k timetrial. It’s not a race, more an opportunity to run an accurate 5k at whatever effort level or speed you want; for example, one of the traditional ways to run time-trials is to run each one at the same heart-rate or effort level, then compare your times from run-to-run: if you run quicker for the same heart-rate then you are fitter! (assuming similar weather conditions).
And if that isn’t enough there’s quite often a free drink on offer for anyone getting a pb!
During the summer months (May to August) this event is suspended owing to the summer 5k series giving plenty of opportunity for runners to run 5k races.
The route
We always start at the junction of Park Street and St Albans Street; in the winter the course heads down Sheet Street, along the Kings Road, then down Albert Road to Old Windsor and back; in the summer we run down Park Street, along the Long Walk, then turn left along Albert Road down to Old Windsor and back.
