How to use this site

Navigation

The website is primarily in "blog" format, where each new article for the site is added to the end of a rolling list of article, and is tagged with one or more categories to indicate what sort of information is in the post.

You can then navigate or find articles by datebits

by category (e.g. click "results" to see all the results that have been posted, social to see the social engagements, etc).

or by search (using the search box).

The site also has some static pages that sit outside the dynamic parts of the site; for example how to contact the committee, or how to find the club. Just click the links to these pages to go to them.

Interaction & commenting on articles

One of the best things about a blog is that it’s interactive - you can comment on most articles by clicking the link at the bottom of the article. Most articles will say who wrote it (did I mention that any of the committee can post articles?), so bear that in mind when commenting; bear in mind too that the whole world can see your comment, so please think carefully before you commit your comment. We reserve the right to edit or delete any comment deemed to be unsuitable for consumption by adults *and* children. See "editorial policy" for more on this.

Contributing to the site

Any member of the committee who wants to can post articles on the site (hand-holding is available!). If you have something that you’d like to put on the site, then the answer is probably "yes, we can; please contact the webmaster using the links on the "How to contact the Dashers" page.

If you’d like to become a regular contributor - for example, to run a series of articles about something close to your heart, please contact the webmaster to arrange access.

Editorial policy

"An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made in a narrow field"

– Neils Bohr

We’re all human, and we all make mistakes. If there’s something wrong with anything on the site, please contact the webmaster using the links on the "How to contact the Dashers" page.

Similarly, if someone has written a comment that you think is rude, libelous, or unsuitable for general consumption, please contact the webmaster.

In any case, please make sure to provide the article name and the date on which it was published.
