No less than 9 club records have fallen already this year.
We kicked off in January with Janet Binns knocking 19 minutes off the FV65 half marathon record at Dorney Lake with a time of 1:50:37.
Then at the Bramley 20 in February, Rob Foster knocked nearly 5 minutes off the MV40 20 mile record with a time of 1:58:45, whilst Yvonne Olney took 4 minutes off her own FV65 record recording 3:12:21.
Three more records were recorded at the Wokingham Half Marathon as Rob Foster knocked nearly a minute off the MV40 record with a time of 1:12:19, Mark Ferguson knocked a minute of his own MV50 record in 1:18:08, and Yvonne Olney beat Janet's January FV65 record running 1:48:06.
In March at the Tokyo Marathon, not only did Janet Binns complete her set of Marathon Majors, but she also knocked nearly 20 minutes off the FV65 marathon record in recording a time of 3:46:42, good enough for 3rd in her age category as well.
Then at the Maidenhead Easter 10 on 7th April, Helen Bolt took 30 seconds off her own FV55 10 mile record with time of 1:12:24, whilst Yvonne Olney set another FV65 record, taking 9 minutes off the existing record with a time of 1:25.29 (Sunita Dawett also beat the old record).
Well done all - I don't think they're finished record setting just yet.
